The grant has supported the development of 2D/3D visualisation content of INtuitIV algorithm for stakeholder engagement and new customer development.

OGEL is a rapid construction system using waste plastic as its main raw material. It can be used for a variety uses from whole buildings to humanitarian shelters to flood defences. Its benefits are that it is quick to construct, easy to learn, fully reusable and modular. Additionally, it is 1/8th the weight of equivalent building products and packs away to 1/5th of built size when not in use.

Tooling to manufacture a ‘C’ cap – A trim that enables the OGEL wall to be used as a roof or floor. Consultancy support to develop market understanding, commercialisation of the product, and mechanisms of taking the innovation to the target market.

Sub 10 have deveoped KnowledgeSphereTM, a SAAS cloud based learning platform, based on a unique proven learning methodology that will allow multiple subscribers from SMEs to enterprise level learners to access quality, cost effective, exciting content in a responsive, convenient format…that actually works and will improve their workforce in key areas of non-discretionary learning such as compliance and Diversity and Inclusion.

The grant has allowed Sub 10 to design and build the KnowledgeSphereTM front end application layer, allowing early adopters to login and experience the platform. It will also demonstrate key features and the UX that drives them, allowing us to present the MVP to seek investment to grow the product and team.

The grant has supported the development of the newsroom interface using PHP to actively sort relevant articles and content for journalists allowing query driven searches based on profile-able outputs from the systems AI engine.
A Star Attendance

A Star Attendance have developed a school attendance software system which makes dealing with pupil attendance easier, as it offers a comprehensive solution to support attendance monitoring, tracking, intervention and reporting. It will manage every aspect of pupil’s attendance, without the need to produce endless reports.

Academically are an education consultancy and academic peer support company serving international students studying in the UK. It supports institution application, language tutoring and sourcing accommodation and guardianship for students, as well as a peer tutoring service providing tailored academic support from A Level to PhD.
Description of the activity funded by the GX Innovation grant
The grant will support a peer-2-peer student support platform to solve the problem of distance learning for international (and native) HE students. The platform will enable capable academics to provide mentorship to other students in return for payment. The platform will match students to the most suitable mentor, enabling support to be carried out by academics that share a similar research interests, methodology and research fields providing a service that is tailored specifically to the students’ academic needs. As students develop their subject knowledge, they then have the option to become tutors themselves and earn an income alongside or after studies.
Mesma
Name and description of the product/service developed
Mesma provide data analytics to inform quality improvement in further education and skills. The digital technology solution developed will enable further education & skills (FES) providers and external governance agencies to build and sustain a collaborative model of quality assurance (QA) and targeted quality improvement (QI). The overall initiative will result in the design of a new product that will provide a data analysis tool to facilitate benchmarking of organisational performance against a set of standard quality indicators. This project is the first crucial step in moving our platform beyond a single-organisation QA tool.

The outputs of this project will be a full data schema and technical specification for the product, allowing us to progress rapidly to development. Project activity will include a full review of current database, development of a new database schema, data discovery enhancements, costing analysis for product development and full technical specification report including testing requirements.

A Proof-of-Concept Goal-Seeking Optimisation Model towards the development of new functionality to be introduced to the ‘Acre’ software platform – a software tool for predicting concentrations of chemicals in water bodies which result from pesticide usage, as part of performing environmental risk assessments.
Description of the activity funded by the GX Innovation grant
A Proof-of-Concept software model will be developed to demonstrate environmental risk assessments can be performed by a reverse-engineered approach where the target pesticide concentration in water bodies is inputted into the software which then outputs the combinations of pesticide application parameters (e.g. pesticide quantity, timing and frequency of application) will meet this concentration.

The products are primarily pen/pencil grips but can be used with many items and devices. Due to the internal profile of the grip itself, it can be used with certain paintbrushes, cutlery, as well as small tools assisting in daily tasks as well as being comfortable to use.
CONTOUR is designed with grip issues in mind. Whether it to assist with health issues affecting that are affecting grip as well as the ability to reduce fatigue from writing or long periods.
CURVE is the most compact grip out of the collection. With a sleek and stylish shape, it can even fit the smallest of hands, it can be used in various orientations to suit personal preferences, writing styles, and grip postures.

Jam Jar Cinema is a leading independent cinema based in Whitley Bay. Growing from a small community project it now runs a 3 screen site offering the latest releases celebrating the best of Hollywood, British, World and Event Cinema releases. As part of its strategy to expand their offer to be as inclusive as possible for the times ahead, we are working to launch our own Premium (PVOD) on demand platform directly targeting local audiences who otherwise would not be able to attend our cinema.

The development of a customised platform for the cinema using Shift72/Screen-Plus technology to stream for rent/buy content into the home. JamJar will also create specific and customised videos which will help its target audiences access, and feel confident, using the platform. JamJar also aims to pilot a project to create original, broadcast quality content that could be hosted on the platform.
