St. Mary’s Heritage Centre is a unique and innovative visitor attraction incorporating libraries, arts and heritage in one venue.

The interior of the Grade 1-listed church has been stripped back and returned as far as possible to its former state. St Mary’s Heritage Centre is open to the public and has a particular passion for sharing the history of Gateshead, heritage of the church and offering help for anyone interested in discovering their own family history. A regular and eclectic programme of exhibitions, events and activities suitable for all ages take place throughout the year.
