The Get North Family Expo is a huge, free event dedicated to kids and feeding their infinite imaginations. A mash-up of interactive activities, it will raise eyebrows, open minds and expand horizons.

Expect endless inventing, crafting, making, experimenting and tinkering with ideas with experts in the know. And we couldn’t hold the event at Newcastle United in a World Cup year, without throwing in some football!

It’s a chance for kids to discover the Great Exhibition of the North’s themes of innovation, art and design and explore the part they can play in the North of tomorrow.

Activities are ideal for seven to 14-year-olds but younger children will love them too with a little help from the grown-ups.

Stretching over six days, the event kicks off with the Family Expo Weekend of drop-in fun on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 August followed by four days of ticketed workshops from Monday 6 to Thursday 9.

The Get North Family Expo is a free event to attend, however, visitors will need to book tickets for the workshops.
Workshops are fully booked, however, due to high demand – we have been able to extend our session capacity to accommodate more children. If you haven’t been able to book a ticket already, please turn up ahead of a workshop to be allocated a space on a first come, first served basis. We cannot guarantee entrance to specific events but will do our best to get you onto one of our brilliant workshops.

Monday 6 August
