Women Artists of the North East Library

Women Artists of the North East Library banner image

This evolving exhibition documents and explores how North East women artists have helped to shape our past and are influencing the art world of the present and future.

Artists of the North East Library was initiated in 2017 by a group of young contemporary artists creating a collection of books, art, photographs, letters, oral histories and music that contributes to the history of women artists working in the region.

As part of the Great Exhibition this project will be reimagined as an evolving exhibition, documenting and exploring how North East women artists have helped to shape our past and are influencing the art world of the present and future.

The exhibition will be animated through a series of public talks, discussions, workshops and performances led by artists.

You’re invited to their Closing Party on Saturday 8 September
