Aeons: a Sound Journey for Newcastle

Disappear into a sound adventure along the banks of the River Tyne discovering a world of music that responds to your surroundings.

Head to the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, pick up your headphones and set off along the riverside.

Head to the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, pick up your headphones from the glass control room on the Newcastle side of the river (next to Pitcher and Piano/Malmaison) and set off along the riverside heading towards the bridges. The river itself is your guide along the bank of the Tyne with music from the epic sounding Orchestra and Chorus of Opera North, composer and accordion wizard Martin Green of folk trio Lau, and singer Becky Unthank.

A series of sensors trigger each sound section, linking you and the music to what you see and feel all around you.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your booking slot, wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for whatever the weather throws at you. If you’re late, sadly we can’t guarantee a space in the next time slot. The walk lasts approximately 30 – 40 minutes.
