Part of the Great Exhibition of the North – Exhibition inspired by the 2018 centenary celebrations of women’s suffrage, showcasing items from Newcastle University Library Special Collections and Archives.

Inspired by the centenary celebrations of women’s suffrage, this exhibition uncovers the involvement of Northern women in movements which fought for change and reform throughout the UK. From fighting for the right to vote to revolutionising primary school education, we highlight the impact that different women have had on a variety of campaigns.
