One of the biggest carnival parades in the North, the hugely popular South Tyneside Festival Summer Parade returns on Saturday 30 June. Enjoy an amazing spectacle of colour, song, dance and performances at this event on the beautiful South Shields Seafront.

The South Tyneside Summer Parade is the biggest of its kind in the North East. It’s a culmination of many creative workshops and months of hard work from the cultural sector and the region’s community, resulting in a hugely colourful and energetic celebration. More than 2,000 people from across the North East will be joining professional carnival artists in the parade, as it makes its way from South Shields Town Hall to South Shields Seafront, with this year’s event based around the theme of Monsters, Myths and Magic. The parade will end at Bents Park on South Shields Seafront for an afternoon of fun and expressive arts.
