From the Guildhall to the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, you’ll find everything from traditional toys and sweets to shabby chic accessories and handmade local gifts at this ancient market. It compliments the Quayside’s fabulous natural setting, world class cultural institutions and superb restaurants and bars.

Rediscover the Quayside Market situated between 2 iconic Bridges (Swing and Gateshead Millennium), you’ll find everything from traditional toys and sweets to shabby chic accessories and handmade local gifts. It’s the place to visit every Sunday. One of the traders, who has been selling at the markets in Newcastle for more years than he can remember, is David Nash. He sells handmade leather goods and each one tells a tall tale – literally. From handbags to magic wallets and purses, there’s a hand written sign behind each.

Further along the market there are “No Bones” who sell gourmet dog biscuits, such as doggy pizza slices and gift boxes for your favourite pooches – so why not bring your doggy best friend along.

There are candles that look like cocktails, and handmade wooden items, second hand books, vinyl, sweet treats, plants, scented melts, candles, jewellery, photographs and much more.

And when you’ve worked up an appetite, you can travel around the world through food. There are German bratwurst, Spanish paella, Chinese dumplings, Greek gyros, Thai curry and English fish and chips and much more to tempt your taste buds.
