Far more than an outdoor cinema, Picnic Cinema have been taking film lovers to iconic locations including castles, forests and national trust properties over the years, with the full Picnic Cinema experience including dressing up, camping over, and letting your hair down with fun and games before the film, music, dancing and many more surprises. In 2018 they return to Hamsterley Forest for screening of Dog Soldiers (15), directed by Newcastle born Neil Marshall. Dig out your best camo gear, furry hats and fake blood before heading 2 milesinto the atmospheric forest, complete with smoke, sound effects and spooky lighting – good job it’s not a full moon.

Access to the site is via a track road. Campers and film goers must be prepared to carry their things from the car approximately 350m.
