As well as (fairly) traditional stalls and fairground rides, the much-loved Children’s Parade and Duck Race are colourful expressions of local creative endeavour. This year the theme is ‘Tales of the Riverbank’, with special free and family-friendly activities at Ouseburn Farm, Stepney Bank Stables and the Victoria Tunnel and at all the organisations at the cultural heart of Ouseburn Valley. Seven Stories’ ‘Winged Tales of the North’ art and installations will form an inspiring landscape for the Festival. Local artists and musicians will entertain the crowds enjoying the Ouseburn sunshine and the quirky bars and cafes in the Valley, while families can picnic by the specially designed contemporary bandstand.
The Ouseburn Festival from 12-5pm on Sunday 8 July is the daytime open-air complement of the NARC Music Festival on Saturday 7 July ensuring there is something for everyone in Ouseburn this weekend. Check the Festival website for the latest details.
