Coinciding with the Great Exhibition of the North, The Arts Society will present a series of talks at Tyneside Cinema. Hear expert lecturers share their specialist knowledge on the arts, with fascinating insights into the contributions from the North.

This summer, to coincide with the Great Exhibition of the North, join leading arts educational charity, The Arts Society for a series of outstanding talks by specialist lecturers in the fields of art, design and culture. The eclectic programme of talks will showcase the depth and breadth of the speakers and their topics, with fascinating insights into the contributions from the North of England to our artistic heritage. Enjoy a complimentary drink in the stylish surroundings of Tyneside Cinema, and learn more about titles such as ‘Renaissance Sugar Sculpture to 3D Printing’, ‘The Magical Art of Hollywood’ and ‘Conceptual Art – Whatever were they thinking about?’.

The major refurbishment and redevelopment of Tyneside Cinema in 2006-2008 ensured that the venue is now more accessible than ever before. We have: A lift to all floors High contrast signage throughout the building, complete with braille Accessible toilet facilities on floors 2 and 3 Wheelchair users: Each of the Tyneside’s Cinema’s screens have power assisted doors and dedicated spaces for wheelchair users: The Classic (Circle): 2 dedicated spaces allocated via removable seating. The Roxy: 2 dedicated spaces allocated via removable seating. The Electra: 4 dedicated spaces allocated. Wheelchair user access to the Classic screen is in the Circle only, but wheelchair users can buy Circle tickets at the standard ticket rate for that screening
