Scot Gardner was appointed Chief Executive for Cisco in the UK & Ireland in August 2016.
Scot and his team help organisations in the private and public sector as they look to Cisco to connect everything and everyone by building the secure, intelligent platform for digital business.
Scot is passionate about working with business, government and academia to help solve some of the UK’s biggest challenges, such as security, connectivity and productivity.
Nearly every Internet connection in the UK touches Cisco. Under Scot’s leadership, Cisco is partnering to help create the smartest cities, set up the world’s most connected train travel and to bring 5G to rural communities. To support the UK skills gap, Cisco recently pledged to the training of an additional 250k people through Cisco Network Academy in the UK by 2020.
In his previous role as Vice President of Global Service Provider Segment Sales at Cisco in the Europe, Middle East, Africa & Russia (EMEAR) region, Scot led one of the largest and most dynamic markets for Cisco, spanning telecommunications, mobile and cable operators, broadcasters and content providers, as well as cloud and managed services providers.
Scot has over 20 years of IT industry experience in senior management positions. Joining Cisco in 1997, he has held Director and Executive level sales roles in Public Sector, Financial Services as well as in Service Provider.
As an advocate for the tech industry, Scot sits on the board of TechUK and is an executive sponsor for the charity XForces, supporting start-up and scale-up businesses in the UK military community.
Scot holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from Birmingham University, an Honorary Doctorate from Buckinghamshire New University and is an Alumni of the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
